California State Balcony Inspection Laws – SB 721 (2018) and SB 326 (2019)

California State Balcony Inspection Laws, known as SB 721 (2018) and SB 326 (2019), require inspection of Exterior Elevated Elements of multi-family buildings by January 1, 2025. Inspections must be conducted on balconies, decks, porches, stairways, walkways, and entry structures that extend beyond exterior walls of the building and that rely, in whole or in substantial part, on wood or wood-based products for structural support or stability and are elevated more than 6 feet above the ground level.
